Zoning Conformity for Official Plan Employment Areas – Meeting

Zoning Conformity for Official Plan Employment Areas – Meeting

The City is working to bring its Zoning By-laws into conformity with the Official Plan policies for
Employment Areas. Phase 1 of the review involves the removal of sensitive land uses, such as
daycares and places of worship, which are no longer permitted in Employment Areas due to changes
in land use permissions in the City’s Official Plan. The proposed changes will be considered by City
Council at its meeting on November 9-10, 2021.

Date: November 2, 2021
Time: 9:30 – 11:30 am (Online)

Meeting Details:

Both the City-wide Zoning by-law and the former general zoning by-laws were written before the
current Official Plan. The zoning by-laws permit a number of uses, including sensitive uses that are
no longer considered to be compatible on lands designated as Employment Areas. As a result, Phase
1 of the current zoning review proposes to remove zoning permissions to conform to the policies for
Employment Areas.
Join us at the Virtual Information Meeting to learn about Phase 1 of the Study, including:
