DZ Licensed Drivers - Roll-Off Drivers - Urban Waste Recycling

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Description:

  • Operate vehicle in accordance with Urban Waste Recycling and Life Critical Rules, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
  • Performs pre-and-post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and document checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Dispatch.
  • Participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Urban Waste.
  • Works closely with dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
  • Notifies Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street, alleyways or potential safety hazards.
  • Communicates customer requests to Dispatch.
  • Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.
  • Completes and submits customer tickets as required.
  • Positions and/or returns container on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids and/or doors are properly replaced and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
  • Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and the check out process.
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by DIspatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

Recycling Supervisor - Material Auditor - Canada Fibers

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Description:

  • Ensure audits are performed accurately without compromise.
  • Collaborate with various municipalities to schedule audits according contractual obligations.
  • Schedule and supervise requested audits from the sales teams, operations managers and other municipalities upon immediate request, with approval from Departmental Manager.
  • Internal data management of all audit documentation, including data reconciliation between third party auditors and municipalitites.
  • Update inbound composition spreadsheets daily and document materials found in audits.
  • Catalog numerous photographs of waste audits.
  • Train new hires on policies, procedures and regulations governing numerous municipal contracts.
  • Trains audit team based on audit requirements as per contracts outlined by the Departmental Manager.
  • Communicate with supervisors/managers and consultants regarding audit disputes arising with the municipal contract(s), when required.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in a uniform fashion across multiple facilities according to contracts and/or market specifications.
  • Ensure audit team members are auditing material according to specific requirements as outlined by each municipal contract.
  • Ensure Quality/Assurance/Quality Control guidelines are adhered to as laid out in the contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MRF Contracts Supervisor - Canada Fibers

Job Description:

  • Overall administration of contracts with municipalities.
  • Management of budgets, forecasts and overall contract costs in relation to the agreed contracts.
  • Maintaining a repository of all contract documentation and maintain these to appropriate levels of quality and currency.
  • Helping to maximize service contract performance using challenge and innovation, taking appropriate risks, rewarding performance where necessary, and forming effective and professional relationships with Partner representatives.
  • Monitoring commercial deliverables of service contracts.
  • Contributing to supplier relationship management / service partner business plans and processes to forecast, track and report on performance.
  • Positively participating in the ongoing operation and governance of the Sourcing Strategy.
  • Working with Procurement, Legal, other parties on behalf of the business in relation to Contracts; building appropriate relationships; influencing procurement policy and process where appropriate, and maintaining good knowledge of procurement policy and process.

Job Description:

  • Report to work station as per hours outlined in your offer of employment.
  • Remain at appropriate work stations at all times during equipment operations. Report to line Supervisor if required to leave station.
  • Ensure that material is picked off or left on the process line as instructed.  If unsure review with line Supervisor the procedure.
  • Ensure that material flow is kept and any issues are brought to the Supervisor's attention.
  • Work stations are to be kept clean of all debris, area around work station is kept in an orderly manner.
  • When system is down it is the responsibility of the sorter to clean his/her work station area.
  • Follow all procedures with regard to hazardous material found on the line.  Report all such occurrences to Supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in cleaning of the facility as needed and instructed by Supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned with operational changes.
