Weston Road and Sheppard Avenue Reconstruction Unveiling

After much anticipation, the Emery Village Business Improvement Area, alongside City of Toronto Mayor David Miller, Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti, and 900 children from local schools, unveiled the BIA’s first major construction project, located at the intersection of Weston Road and Sheppard Avenue West on September 19, 2007. Also in attendance were Councillor Shelley Carroll, Councillor Norman Kelly, Councillor Kyle Rae, Catholic School Trustee Sal Piccininni and numerous community members, to celebrate this momentous event in Emery Village’s history. This project was the result of an innovative cost-sharing venture between the Emery Village BIA and the City of Toronto, the first of its kind to be implemented in the City. This community revitalization project is the first of many future projects to be undertaken by the Emery Village BIA, and has set the groundwork for future investment into the BIA.
